
Generally The Purple Supper Band need approximately 1 hour to set up and check their sound and light show, however, if your event has particularly difficult access (flights of stairs etc.) please let the band know at the time of booking. Packing away after the show generally takes around 1 hour too, and The Purple Supper Band will always leave the stage and dressing room as clean and tidy as when we arrived!
We normally arrive at evening events at around 6pm. This is usually the time that hotel staff "turn around" a room in preparation for the evening reception. The Purple Supper Band try to be as flexible as possible, and if your event has any special requirements, we will always do our best to fit in with your plans. We are often asked to arrive early in the afternoon or even the morning to set up. We are willing to do this, but please be aware that if the band is expected to be at the venue for an extra three or four hours an additional fee will be charged. Please call us for more details.
The band have a state of the art sound system, and also provide all of the lighting equipment required. All the band's gear is PAT tested for electrical safety and the band also have full Public Liability Insurance.
With regard to stage size, we will always make every effort to fit in with your plans and layout, but if you are booking the full 7 piece band and a disco, please check with your venue that they can accommodate this.
The most popular choice is 2 x 50 minute party sets between approx. 8pm and midnight, but this is negotiable, and The Purple Supper Band are always flexible according to the demands of your event. The timings will be structured so that the band is not performing whilst the evening buffet is being served. Almost all of our clients opt for the additional disco service which means we can provide suitable background music whilst your guests eat.
Unfortunately not, as The Purple Supper Band generally play at weddings, private and corporate events, and it isn't fair to those clients to invite others along to watch. However, the band do occasionally hold public showcases at which prospective clients are invited to come along. Please ask for more details. However, we would not recommend putting off booking the band and missing out, as the band does get booked up very quickly, especially for weekends and busy periods like mid-summer and Christmas.
Unless previously arranged for larger or outdoor events, The Purple Supper Band will provide everything they need for their performance except staging, so you don't need to worry about providing any sound or lighting equipment. Whilst a dressing room is preferable so that the band can keep out of the way of your guests, any available space can be used for changing and to store empty boxes and costumes away from the staging area. Parking for band vehicle(s) is also required.
The Purple Supper Band have a list of standard fees, but please be aware that considerations such distance, performance time, and even the time of the year can affect this price. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and we will give you a definite quotation.
